S & W 357 Highway Patrol Revolver
Question
My wife was handling her late brothers estate & found the above gun in his house.
The auctioneer ann't put it the Estate Auction Sale.
As the gun appears to be un-fired, does it have any value to a collector?

What you have is most likely a Smith & Wesson Model 28 Highway Patrolman. These came in either a 4" or 6" barrel. If manufactured after 1957, this particular gun in 'new' condition could be worth as much as $400 to $450. If it was manufactured pre-1957, you can about double that figure. The serial number would tell you the approximate year of manufacture. To determine the serial number range for this model, you could probably locate it in the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson. It costs about $30 on Amazon.com in paperback.
