Winchester model 94

I recently purchased a 1982 Winchester Model 94 carbine. It has a few flaws on the barrel, the bluing on the receiver is pretty much gone. The gun functions with no problems. The muzzle is clean with no pitting. Most of these rifles I have seen have full magazines, this one has a half magazine.  Does this help or hurt the value of the weapon? The wood has some kicks and a couple of small cracks. There appears to have been some kind of round hardware glued to the butt stock, they are missing. What would be a ball park value on this gun?

Hello Don. First, I must say that I normally do not answer firearm questions if they do not include the serial number of the firearm in question. However, I will make an exception in this case since you have made an attempt at describing it. You say it is a Winchester model 94 made in 1982. I'm not quite sure how you know that, but I will move ahead from here. It has a half-length magazine which, if factory issued, does not hurt the value. You also describe a spot on the butt stock that may have had a round hardware item at one time. I am going to do the best to describe a commemorative rifle that was manufactured in 1982. It was named the "Oklahoma Diamond Jubilee" There were only 1001 made to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Oklahoma statehood. It was chambered in .32-40win. caliber. It had triple level engraving with gold overlay filling all the engraving. It had a high polish blue receiver, lever and barrel bands. It had a very high grade of wood, being XXXX. The medallion was made of cloisonne(fired ceramic) that contained the representation of Oklahoma Statehood. It also had a 10pt. diamond in the front site. It had a 23" round barrel with a crescent buttplate. The serial number began with ODJ0001 and continued to ODJ1001.The value has been placed around $1,595. Unfortunately, I cannot say if this corresponds to your 94. If so, this means someone robbed the very soul of this firearm. I pity you. You also ask for a value. A Winchester model 94 in the condition you describe is worth approximately $150 to $175 considering the crack in the stock. I hope this answers your question and thank you for asking for me.
