I have a 16ga ranger shotgun that belonged to my granddad. I know it was sold by sears but don't know how old. It has mod 30 on left hand side. Any info would be helpful, and what if any a value for insurance purposes thanks
Answer
Hi,
You have a house branded Stevens Model 520a.
It was made from 1915 to 1930.
Its worth $75 to $200 depending on condition.
Have the chamber length checked before firing.
Its old enough to have a 2.5 inch chamber.
If its not marked make sure it 2.75 inch chamber before using modern ammo in it.
No hi velosity or steel shot in gun that old.
