rifle value and production date
Question
what is the value and production year of a ted williams model 73 30-06 sears and roebuck model 273532730
Answer
Gordon,
The Ted Williams Model 73 that you reference was actually a Winchester 670 made for Sears. It was made in .30-06, Winchester .308 and a few other calibers. It was an economy version of the Winchester Model 70. It was manufactured between 1967 and 1973 and in 95% condition would be worth about $200-$225. I cannot provide an exact year of production. If the gun has no serial number it was made in either 1967 or 1968. After the passage of the Gun Control Act of 1968 by Congress, all long guns manufactured after 1968 were required to have a serial number.
So, the short version on dates, if it has no serial number, it was made in 1967 or 1968. If it has a serial number, it was made between 1969 and 1973.

Doug Little
