40 caliber glock and range of effectiveness
Question
Rick, I have purchased a Glock 22 .40 cal Gen 4, added a viridian laser sight and tru glo night sights. The weapon is dead on at 20 to 30 feet and that is out of the box. Amazing!
My question: I want to sight the laser in for a longer distance shot. I was thinking in the 20 to 30 yard range. Is that to far or would you go farther. What are your thoughts.
thanks, Dusty
Answer
30 feet is 10 yards, I would set for 15 yards and see where is hits at 10 yds, it should not change that much, you will see round drop between 15 and 25 yrds, so sighting in at 15 should be good, most shootings happen at very close distance, but nice to know the laser is good at longer. Make sure you sight in in a good stable supported position, a laser is very accurate, so if it moves it shooter movement not gun, normally.
