gun age

i have my grandfathers shotgun,its a 12 gauge single shot .its is made by j stevens arms and tool co. made in chicowee falls mass.could you give me a idea on its age.thank you

No way to exactly date them.
That name was in use from 1886 to 1915. (nothing was made 1916 to 1919 when Westinghouse owned it.)


It may not be safe to shoot with modern ammo if it has damascus twist steel barrels.
