Winchester 94 30-30
Question
I recently inherited a Winchester Model 94 30-30 sn #16 93809, and I'm wondering if you could tell me the approximate. manufacture date for this rifle. It's in really nice condition, but do you think I should have it checked out by a gunsmith before I take it out to shoot? Thank You. Mike
Answer
According to the serial number your gun was manufactured sometime between 1947 and 1948. As with any old gun, it is best to have it checked out by a qualified gunsmith before firing it. He would be able to spot problems with the firing mechanisms, the barrel, and anything else that might cause you harm. Best of luck, the model 94 is a nice rifle to shoot!
