how can I find out the year my gun was made and aprox the value. The gun is a single action 6 shot with adjustable sights in good condition. It says J P sauer & sohn made in western Germany on the gun. It also has Hawes Firearms co Los Angles CA. I appreciate any information you can give me . Thankyou

Hello Chuck. You ask about the manufacture date of your Hawes Chief Marshal. J.P. Sauer & Son began manufacturing the Western Marshal SAA in 1968 and were imported by Hawes of Van Nuys, California. The same Hawes relocated to Los Angeles, California around 1973 and continued to have these imported from the J.P. Sauer & Son of western Germany. Yours was imported from 1973 to 1981. As for the value, I do not evaluate something I cannot see. I will, however, direct you to a couple of web sites that auction firearms. They are the GUNBROKER.com and GUNSAMERICA.com.
