repaint
Id like to get a custom paint of an m16 or ar15 type weapon. I live in the US and would like to know if there are places that do custmized colors. I saw a hello kitty gun online and got the idea. the picture is a poor example of the things im looking for. If there isnt a place that will do this, how can i paint it myself?

I'd recommend against painting a gun yourself. Standard paints will not adhere properly to many manufacturer finishes. In addition, many standard paints will not stand up to the heat generated by rapid gunfire. If you put a couple of magazines through your AR quickly and the check the temperature of the barrel (careful...it will be HOT!), you'll see what I mean.
If you want decent work that will look good and last, you'll need to find a good refinisher. A few gunsmiths might do this, but I would look for someone very experienced.

You probably want them to use either a Dura Cote or Gun Kote finish. You can check either website for some example photos...
