Springfield Manufactured by J. Steven Arms Company
Question
I have a 12 gauge single barrel, 2 3/4" single shot shotgun stamped "Springfield- Manufactured by J. Steven Arms Company- Chicopee Falls, Mass, USA. On reverse side it's only marking is -94-B. I haven't seen a serial number anywhere. The barrel is stamped "proof tested 12 gauge- 2 3/4 inch chamber" on reverse of barrel it's stamped "selected forged steel" I'm curious to find out when it was actually manufactured and from there possibly a market value. Thanks!
Answer
Hello Rachael,
Your gun was made before 1968 as evident by no serial numbers. Stevens Arms made MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of single barrel and double barrel shotguns, dating them to a specific year is impossible. They have very little collectors interest or value on the market. You can usually buy these guns for 150 bucks at mostly any gun shop if the gun is in good condition.
