hawes firearm

i have a single shot 22 long pistol my dad gave me before he passed was wanting to know more about it. the barrel is long, it breaks down by a button on side. it has serial number on barrel and body of handle. also on barrel says 22 lr. do u know anything about this type pistol?

Hawes Firearms was a major firearm importer during the 50's and 60's. They did not make guns, they imported them in from places like spain or germany. The .22 LR is the size round it shoots, commonly called 22 longs, or 22 long rifle. Hawes firearms usually have no collectors value, a .22 LR pistol such as yours would fetch 75.00-100.00 at most if it was in excellent shape. The gun was likely made in Germany by JP Sauer, hope this information helped.
