Question
US Revolver 38
Can you help me. I have an old US Revolver Co. (says "US" on handle) .38 S&W with a 3" barrel with serial no: 12397.
How can I find its age or any other info?
Thank You so much
AnswerKeith,
These revolvers were made by Iver Johnson. They were the 'inexpensive' version of the Iver Johnson revolvers. They were manufactured primarily in the period between 1910 and 1930. Thre is no known serial number data on them. They were not designed for modern ammo and in general should not be fired as they won't stand up to current ammo pressures. Value is likely in the $50-$75 range in excellent condition as they are not especially collectable. You have an interesting piece of early 20th Century firearms history.
