20 gauge single barrel riverside arms co. chicopee mass.
Question
How do I determine the age & value of this gun? It has a plastic butt-plate.
Answer
Horton,
Riverside was a brand name used by J. Stevens for a utility grade shotgun that they made from the mid 1920s to around 1960. These are not considered to be collectable at all. The value is going to be based on the condition of the gun, but if I had to give you a range it would be between $40 and $75.
There is really no way to date it with any precision since I don't believe that Stevens put serial numbers on these guns.
Sorry I can't be of more assistance.
