Model 11?
Question
My friend has a Remington 12 guage with a poly choke and ivory bead. It looks like a Browning humpback. Serial number 59989. The barrel says MOD on one side and RP on the other. No other markings that I can find. Can you tell us what it is and possibly date it? Thanks, Andy
Answer
It is a Browning Design and produced under license from Frabrque Nationale by Remington.
(Remington also made Browning Auto 5 during WWII)
The Model 11 was made from 1905 until 1948. About 850,000 were made.
If it was made after 1920 there should be letter date code on it.

It appears to have been made in Nov of 1923.
It the Polychoke has been around since the 1920s but that marked Mod (modified Choke), its probably aftermarket add on.
