NR Davis side by side 20ga shotgun serial #12244
Question
I am planing on using this shot gun for small up land birds. The shot gun is in excellent shape. Could you tell me what the round lenght the shot gun is chambered for and what number shotgun shell that I should be using. Thanks, Wayne
Answer
As that is an old shotgun, I would have it checked over by a gunsmith before using it.
As it is an old shotgun, is should be chambered for 2 3/4" length shell. Under no circumstances should you ever fire one of the newer 3" shells out of it.
I don't know what you mean by "what number shotgun shell." If it's a 20 ga, that's what it is. If you're asking what number shot, #8 is common for upland in 20 ga.
