revelation 12 ga serial number

Question
I have a model 310 revelation I traded for. I have looked all over it and can't find a serial #. Someone told me that pre 1968 shotguns weren't required to have them?
Do they and were would it be?
If this is missing, what should I do with the gun?

Not to worry...your shotgun is most likely a pre-1968 shotgun.  The Gun Control Act of 1968 was the first time that the Federal government required serial numbers on long guns and shotguns.  I have a pre-1968 vintage Mossberg 500 that has no serial number.

You should enjoy your new gun.  You are perfectly legal...
