Iver Johnson 32 pistol

Question
I have a Iver Johnson 32 hammerless 5 shot small frame pistol that I would like any info on .It is a coil spring gun with the letter B under the left grip . It has a ser # of B44...
It has 3 Pat # on it .The last one is Sept 6 / 04 .It belonged to my grandfather .He was a policeman in Baltamore Md in the yearly 1940s .He gave the gun to my mother the day I was born to give to me .He pasted away in 1949 when I was 7 . I have shot the gun 30 or so years ago with modern ammo .It is in good tight condition with blue wear from being carried . Any info on it would be appreciated

  The history of your revolver sounds very interesting. I can tell you that your patent numbers read; PAT'D.JUNE16,96.AUG25,96.SEPT.6.04 PAT'S PENDING. And these are stamped on the bottom of the pistol grip frame. These were stamped thus from 1907-1911. If your serial number is actually B44, your revolver is a 'Small Frame Safety Hammerless Automatic Revolver Third Model' manufactured in 1909. If your serial number is B44???, then this would make it a 'Small Frame Safety Hammerless Automatic Revolver Third Model, First Variation' manufactured in 1911. There were approximately 1,500 of the 1909 manufactured and 17,700 of the 1911.
