batavia leader shotgun
Question
Hello,Im trying to restore my Batavia leader 12 ga double barrel shotgun. And I have one thing left. The forearm My uncle told me that it had a Ebony insert in the end. And there is a place for it. What I want to know is what did it look like are there any pictures of it? More important is there a chance I could purchase one? My grandson and me are working together to finish this gun he wants it on the wall in his room. And to be able to finish the forearm would be a great victory for both. Any input info or suggestions would be a big help. Thank you so much for your time.
Answer
Hello Tim.
I suggest going to the Internet and searching for pictures of your firearm. As far as finding parts, I have checked in the past and not found any source. Larry Potterfield, CEO of Midway U.S.A., has many videos of his gunsmithing techniques on youtube. I do remember one video he did about restoring the ebony tip to a forearm. You can join his group and have each new video come to your e-mail. You can, also, view full length videos in his library. I really enjoy them. I'm glad you are doing this project with your grandson.
I hope this helps and thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
