standard or carbine, air rifles

Question
hi jonathon
could you please tell me the 'pros and cons' of having a standard or carbine barreled air rifle please. i am going to buy a webley stingray in about three weeks and can't decide whether or not to choose a carbine. allso what are your prefered type and make of pellet?. thanks in advance and keep up the good work!
p.s. which of these two companies make the best scopes; Simmons or Hawke?

Answer
Personally I prefer carbines (as they can be fit in the car with more ease) They are harder to cock, but the power is the same, if silencer is added the barrel is still fairly short. I think they look nicer too. I use Eley wasps, but it is best to try a selection of pellets to see what suits your gun best. Simmons are definatly better that the cheaper hawke scopes.

Where are you buying your gun? Have a look at www.jsramsbottom.com, you may be suprised at the price.

Have fun!
