Norinco .22 A.T.D. feeding problem.

Question
Hi there:
I've had it since the early 1990's. One nagging problem with it. After loading the magazine with 6-8 rounds, any more than that leads to more problems, I very often have a feed jam on chambering the first round. When I extract the shell I notice a good size gouge in the lead bullet.

What is causing this? Does anyone have this gun -- have the same problem and managed to get it fixed and know exactly what caused it??

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Best regards,

Tom Robinson

Answer
It could be caused by a number of things.
It would be extremely difficult to diagnois the problem
without seeing the rifle and the ammo.
My best guess is it is a weak spring and some rough edges in the action.
You rifle is a Knock off of a John Browning design.
Quality control is spotty at Norinco.
Bring the rounds and the gun to compotent gunsmith
in your local area.
