I have a Deutsche Werke 1S Werkerfurt 6.35mm automatic. The wooden grips need to be replaced. Got any ideas?
Answer -
Don,
That one might be tough. You may do well to contact custom grip makers found on line. Failing that, someone skilled in woodwork might be able to rough out a set that will work. Failing that, you may just need to keep an eye out for antique parts at gun shows.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Got any ideas about first-rate custom grip makers--available on-line??

Answer
Don,
Well, the Internet was less helpful than I expected. Fortunately, I found a good list of custom grip makers in an old Guns & Ammo annual (now I have an answer for when my girlfriend asks me why I insist on keeping several-years-old back issues hanging around).
As all my guns wear either factory or Hogue grips, I can't claim to be familiar at all with any of these guys, but here is the list; at least one of these folks should be able to help you out.
Ajax Custom Grips Inc. 9130 Viscount Row, Dallas, TX 75247. (800) 527 7537. www.ajaxgrips.com
Boyd's Gunstock Industries, 25376 403rd Ave., Mitchell, SD 57301; (605) 996-5011; www.boydboys.com
Lett Custom Grips, 672 Currier Road, Hopkinton, NH 03229; (800) 421-5388.
Craig Spegel, PO Box 3108, Bay City, OR 97107; (503) 377-4238.
Volquartsen Custom Ltd. 24276 240th Street, Carrol, IA 51401; (712) 792-4238; www.volquartsen.com
I didn't visit all these websites or call these folks myself, but I tired to pick from the list those outlets that dealt with custom grips. If none of these work out for you, let me know and I'll see who else I might be able to talk to.
Good luck,
Kyle
