The Marlin 30-30 deer fifle or not

Is the Marlin 336AS lever action 30-30 a good deer hunting choice for Kansas? and is it a good gun for $343.77 w/scope?

30-30 is consider a deer round.
It works fine in distances up to 100 to 150 yards away.
Normally its used in woodland area.
The Marlin rifle is is a classic.
That price not bad.
Kansas is fairly flat and shots may be longer than 30-30 can handle.
