JACKETED SEMI-WADCUTTER AMMO?

Question
Hi Jonathan
I'm new to target shooting and would like to know if any gun ammo companies make:
JACKETED WADCUTTER AMMO FOR MY NEW .38SPL.
OR
JACKETED SEMI-WADCUTTER FOR .38 SPL.AMMO?
Reason why I'm asking is; I'd like to shoot as clean aa possible with my new revolver. Can that be possible.
Oh, P.S. I seen something on my web (ammo) and it said it was: PLATED DOUBLE END WADCUTTER.
What in the world is that? And maybe that's what I'm looking to shoot?
THANK YOU JONATHAN

Answer
Hi ray,
First off I live in England, and we arnt alowed pistols. Someone went spare with one in there hand up in Scotland, and a number of people died. So out wonderful government banned them as a knee jerk reaction (would you also belive, we arnt alowed semi auto centerfires and the max number of rounds in a shotgun is 3 unless you get a special licence - did someone say nanny state?) So I cant really help with pistol questions. I do have a speer reloading manual, which lists all the bullet heads they make and the loads for all calibers - including pistol. However someone has run off with that too! I suggest that if you are new to target shooting, just buy some FMJ stuff to start with. Get some lead in the air and get used to the gun before you start to fiddle around with bullet weights and loads. There is no point in spending big money on good ammo untill you are shooting well yourself. When you get your groups tightened up move to the expensive stuff.
In the meantime however, I suggest you pop down to your local gunshop and speak to them about the correct ammo for your ability and gun. But remember, they may try to sell you something you dont need. Also, ring up the big ammo companies such as speer, CCI and remington and see what they say.
Good luck and good shooting,
Johnny
