Question
on my mod. 190 Winchester 22 semi-auto serial no. B1454533 the last shell in the tube magazine always jams before it can go into the firing chamber. is there someway I can fix this thank you
Answer
Rick,
I do not claim to be a gunsmith and would recommend that you have same examine your rifle for advise on service needed, if any.
That said, based upon past experience with tube feed 22LR's, I would say that you more than likely have a weak magazine spring. What norally happens is that when the tube is full (or has more than just a couple of rounds in it) the spring is compressed sufficiently to supply the necessary pressure to allow the firearm to properly feed.
This is of course assuming such things as a clean action and no broken parts ect. If it is as per the above, it is really not a big deal. You can spend the time/money to replace it or just be aware of the situation and take it into consideration when using said rifle.
Again, to confirm this beyond any doubt, a gunsmith should inspect your rifle and make any necessary repairs. It could be a totally different cause than I outline as a possibility.
Thanks for the question.
