Answer
Hi,
O F Mossberg is worlds largest producer of shotguns.
Its a basic bolt action repeater shotgun.
The choke tubes screw on end of the barrel.
The the "D" for detachable. They should never be fired
without a choke tube on it. Also use standard velosity ammo in 2.5 or 3 inch shells. The chokes can crack with ammo over 1200 fps.
Havlin Sales has parts including chokes if needed.

They were made from 1946 to the early 1960's
Exact dating is impossible as they were not serial numbered. But many of them were sold. Many by Sears
Western Auto and other chain stores with own brand name on it.
They are basic rugged guns.
Its worth $100 to $25 depending on condition.
.410 bore is the smallest shotgun currently made.
(if it was expressed in Gauge its 67 gauge)
I happen to have one and they function well.
It can be used to hunt small game or for fun shoot on the trap field.
I also happen to have a Yahoo group for Mossberg Owners.
