Question
I have a Colt Sauer model 200 in 300 Win/mag in excellent condition. Fired maybe 10 rounds. It has a Schmidt & Bender scope (8x56). Can you give me an estimated price - I'm interested in selling it.
Answer
Hi Wernfried,
You have a very nice rifle/scope combo and should have very little trouble finding an interested buyer.
A Colt/Sauer Magnum Action (IE. 300win.mag.)in "Very Good" (since you have only shot it 10 times I'm assuming V.G.)condition, has a retail value of about $1,050 and if in "Exc." as much as $1,200.
As for the scope. The S&B is a fantastic scope in and of itself and "should" add a commensurate value. However, in general, rifles sold with scopes already mounted do not normally seem to add an equal dollar amount for the addition of the scope.
The S&B new, retails for around $1,000. So...... I guess you can use that as a yardstick by which to set your price. I do not know what condition the scope is in nor how old it is. However, I would expect you to be able to obtain an addition $500 to $700 in addition to the price of the rifle. You are going to be the best judge of what the scope is worth in the used condition that it is in but this at least gives you a good/fair starting point.
Good luck with your sale (if you decide to do so) and thanks for the question.
