Question
Yes, my mom has a 38 s&w ctge  with a serial # of 328674.Would it be worth her effort to have it cleaned and use it as a protection gun at home?   Thank you

Answer
Hi Pam,

This is a bit of an open ended question since I must assume the revolver is in good operating condition and that your Mother is sufficiently familiar with the operation of a handgun and proficient enough to use it for "self defense" should the occasion ever arise.

I of course realize that this is probably a totally separate question and answer. I felt it necessary however to share these concerns with you. I would be doing us both a disservice if I did not.

As to your question ....... Yes, and I would recommend that you/she not only have it cleaned but also inspected by a gunsmith prior to usage.

Thanks for the question Pam.
