Installing Spring kit for Rossi

2016/7/22 9:21:09

Question
I recently helped a co-worker install a spring kit(trigger and hammer) in a Ruger Vaquero.  Although neither of us had never done it before it was fairly easy...  It made a HUGE difference in the amount of force required to pull back the hammer, and the trigger pull was improved as well.  So now I want to do a spring kit on my Rossi 357.  First of, where can I get one?  Would it be the same for a Taurus(I believe they're made by the same company).  And as far as dificulty, similar or much harder than the Vaquero?  Thanks!

Answer
Brandon,

I would suggest that you check with Numrich Co. at
www.e-gunparts.com and www.midwayusa.com for part kits. If neither of them can help I'm sure they can advise if same is available and where to obtain one.

As for the difficulty level, I've never replace one in a Rossi so I have no experience reference to draw from in advising you.

My educated guess is that if you were able to succeed in previous kit replacement efforts, you more than likely can handle this one. I do not know your personal abilities or comfort level as it relates to taking on this type of project.

All said, if you are "in doubt - don't" is the best advise that I can give. Sometimes its a better investment to pay a professional to do the work.

Good luck with your project and thanks for the question.
