WWII Polish pistol

2016/7/22 9:20:57

Question
I have inherited a Radom VIS, Model 35, 9mm Polish pistol that my dad brought back from his tour of duty during WWII. My uncle advised that I might consider having the bluing re-applied. I wanted to know if this would increase, decrease or have no affect on it's value? How much could I expect to pay for this service? Thanks in advance.

Answer
Deb,

There are exceptions to every rule however, in general the refinishing of a potential collectable firearm, will decrease the value. This of course is a non-issue unless/until you want to sell the firearm. If it were me, I would probably elect to not refinish it.

As for the cost of the service, you should be able to secure this service for around $125 to $150 for the pistol in question. You can add about $25 to $50 more if it has excessive rust.

Thank you for the question Deb.
