16 ga Ranger Shot gun

Question
The 16 gA Ranger Shot gun is a family hand me down that has been in my possession for the past 30 years.  After using the gun last year one of the trigger's stop working and I have taken it to several gun smiths in the area and all of them told me that they cannot purchase parts for this gun.  So my question is; where can I  purchase parts?

Answer
Rich,

Parts for older trade name guns can sometimes be difficult to locate depending upon what is needed. I will also admit that some repair facilities are not particularly fond of working on old guns so often times their way of side stepping the issue is "parts are not available".

That said, they actually may very well not be available or at least not without a lot of research.

I have always had good luck with Numrich Gun Parts Co. You can view their website at www.e-gunparts.com  You will see cross reference pages on the site to help you determine who the actual manufacture was of the Ranger. Once that is determined you can check for parts availability. If they cannot help you I'd say thatthe parts are probably not available.

One other issue, once you determine the manufacture, you could contact them and see if they are willing/able to repair the gun in question. I have personally done so a few times myself.

Good luck and thanks for the question Rich.
