Question
i had a stevens model 22-410 over and under. patent #2259397; it had the tenite stock. I think it was a model 22-410T. it was stolen in 1988; but i got it as a gift for my 10 birthday in 1965, it was used at that time. I have never seen another one like it. any info you coult give me about this gun ; or it's value; and or where I might buy one like it ,would be greatly appreciated. > THANK YOU, RAY BERRY
Answer
Hello Ray, If your Savage over/Under was purchased in 1965,
and had a TOP LEVER opening chances are you had a Mod.24.
which was made from 1950 to 1965. or the Mod.24DL which had
a satin-chrome finished frame. If you had the SIDE LEVER
opening it would be the Mod.24S which was made from 1965 to
1971. The 29th Edition of the Gun Traders Guide Values it in
good condition at between $122.00 to $149.00 depending on the Mod. Around here in Louisiana they are very easy to find. I have seen them in gun shops going for around $250.00
in good used condition. They are real popular around as yard
guns ( to keep the Fox away from the chickens HA-HA).
hope I have been of some help.
