Question
I have an old marlin pump shot gun and i cant tell when its made or what type it is all it has on it is the word 12 gauge shot gun a cereal number i think that says 7300 and the word marlin firearms company U.S.A. and has the funky letters that say FAT'D im not sure if that means factory date but it has the dates of June 2 1896,march 29 1904,au 7 1906, march 24 1908, may 19 1908, Nov,23 1909, DEC 21 1909
Answer
There should be a model number on it.
It could be Marlin Model 24, Model 26, model 28, or model 31.
The dates on it are patient dates.
In any case it was made some where between 1909 and 1930.
There shotguns have various grades and model variations.
Thier value ranges from $100 to $1400 depending on exact model and its condition. There is collectors interest in some variations. I suggest you get a written appraisal from a local gunsmith.
