Question
Paul,
While I was stationed in Germany I purchased a SAKO L691 LH, Serial # 897***, chambered in 30-06. I know I got a very good deal when I purchased it and I have been searching high and low to see what this fine weapon is worth today with absolutely no luck. I also topped this rifle with a German made Zeiss Diavari-Z 3-12X56. I have been told this scope is worth some where around $1,400.00 ????
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
I just sold a left-hand Sako for $1500. with a custom stock (gorgeous wood), but on average, probably $100.-1250. stock, as to scope, add another $1000. probably, although honestly, scopes don't add full value. If you are selling it, it's better to sell the rifle and sell the scope seperately. Most times people won't spend $1000.+ more on a gun because it has nice glass. Thanks for the question.
