Question
I am looking for historical information on the shotgun and a estimated value for insurance. The shotgun is in good condition.
Answer
Mark,
The Fox Model B was manufactured from 1939 to 1988 in many variations by the Savage Corp. The M-"B" was to have had a better fit and finish and been marketed for the hunter who was looking for a shotgun above the comparable Stevens Model 530.
For insurance purposes I suggest that you actually have a qualified person personally inspect and appraise (in writing) the make, model, condition, and retail value for you.
That said, a Fox Model B- Utica, NY. in "good" condition would have a retail value of approximately $500 and a Fox Model B 0 Chicopee Falls, Mass. (later Westfield, Mass.) in "good condition ...... an approximate retail value of $400.
Thanks for the question Mark.
