Question
I have a Belgium made A 5 manufactured in 1927 by my research and am curious as to the value. All stampings match on the action to the barrel. It shoots great but does not like to completely eject the 2 3/4 casings. Thanks Fred
Answer
Hi Fred,
As you probably know, the value is a hard thing to judge with any amount of accuracy without being able to personally inspect the gun in question. Also the condition will greatly effect value.
That said ......... Sweet Sixteen in Exc. condition $850.
V.G. condition $700, Good condition $400, Fair condition $300.
Although you didn't ask, the A-5's are more than a bit touchy when it comes to ejecting empties. I've "been there and done that" as they say. What usually is the problem is the setting order and direction of the friction rings and/or not enough lube (or the wrong kind) on the magazine tube that the barrel and friction rings ride on.
You can get the correct rings and all pertinent info, directions, and owners manual (if needed) from Browning.
Thanks for the question Fred.
