Question
I have been looking for information every where and just cant seem to find out about this shotgun. on one side of the barrel the markings say browning arms company Morgan, Utah & Montreal p.q. made in japan. the other side of the barrel has the markings saying invector bps special steel 12ga - 2 3/4" and 3" field model - 30". on one side of the receiver it has engravings of 3 ducks and around the three ducks like some sort of fancy flowering. on the other side has 2 peacocks flying with a small barn in the background with the fancy flowering around that engraving. the barrel also has some sort of choke attached to it.the barrel also has what looks like a rail from the receiver to the choke raised up. the trigger looks to be like a gold plated. any information or weblink to some pictures sure would be helpful. thank you so much for your time.

Answer
Erich,
There a couple of things in your description that are a bit confusing as to the combination etc. however, that said I will make my best guess based upon the information provided. I believe that you have a Browning Pump Shotgun (BPS) that was manufactured in Japan by Miroku and introduced in 1977.
It is a slide action shotgun that is chambered for 10, 12, and 20 gauge. It is available in vent rib (which is probably the "rail" that you reference) with screw in invector chokes. It has a 3" magnum chamber and a bottom ejection system. It is of a double rail pump/slide system in all steel construction.
If you visit the Browning Arms website and search out the page/s for model BPS you will find additional information and photos of the gun in question. www.browning.com
The BPS Field Grade in good condition has an approximate retail value of $300.
Thanks for the question Erich.
