Answer
Steven,
Although I cannot give you an exact manufacturing date/year (many records on Stevens/Savage etc. are no longer available) I can provide some info that should aid you some.
Beginning in 1884 the firm started doing business as the J. Stevens & Company. In approximately 1888 it was incorporated as the J. Stevens Arms & Tool Co. They did business as such until 1920 when it taken over by the Savage Arms Co.
The Stevens company produced many .22 rifles that were inexpensive utility type bolt actions rifles. They were both single shot and repeaters. Three models were available with tube magazines, the M066, M66, and the M086.
Numrich Gun Parts Co. often has many various parts for these rifles but you will need to check that out further with them. You can view their website at www.e-gunparts.com
The approximate retail value of the rifle if in "good" to "vary good" condition is $100 to $200 depending on which condition category it comes closest to.
I hope this helps and thanks for the question Steven.
