QUESTION: I also figured out that it is a left handed gun, because it opens on the right side to empty the shells. On the right side,it's stamped IMPERIAL METAL PROD.,INC.N.Y.C. U.S.A. On the left side of the barrell it say's: 22CAL SHORT MODEL IMP
Answer
Only info I can find is that there is an Imperial Metal Products company formerly of NY, now in Michigan. The company started in 1914, and my guess would be they used to make revolvers probably through the pre-war era. In .22 short, probably worth in the $1-200. range. Thanks.
