Question
QUESTION: I came into possession of a 12 gauge shotgun; it is marked "Paragon" on one side, "Model W.S." on the other. It says "12 GA CHOKE" on top of the barrel. S/N is A506513. Any information you could give me would be appreciated.
ANSWER: Corey,
I cannot be 100% certain without personally inspecting the gun in question but I have some thoughts about it regardless.
Most of the shotguns that I am personally familiar with that had the "Paragon" name were made by the J. Stevens Co. and by the Baker Gun and Forging Co.
Not knowing for certain the action type, I will also add that if it is a Stevens double with the listed serial number.... the "A" denotes a manufacture year of 1949.
I hope this helps and thanks for the question Corey.

QUESTION: Mr. Lark,
I'm sorry, I forgot to mention that it is a single barrel. I have had very little luck finding out any info on this gun. I certainly appreciate your time and effort. :)
Answer
Cory,
Then we are "barking up the wrong tree" concerning the year coding since that applies to their doubles and am unable to cross reference any numbers as to year of mfg.
Besides, it sounds to me like we are actually dealing with one of the others anyway. srl.
