My Old JC higgins pump

Question
I took my model 20(high standard 200) apart and now there is 1 piece that I cant put in right. After all the major parts are taken out and the reciever is hollow, there was a screw and bar that I was curious about. I Unscrewed it and pulled it off. If you look through the ejection port straight in, You could see the screw hole. Now hoever I cant get it to fit in right. there is no dirt, no damadge, and no missing parts. I just dont know how to put it in. The shotgun works without the part but after the slide is slid back, pulling out the shell. The shell wont eject. It wil lie there in the way of the next round and the action. Do you maybe know how it goes in? -Steve Bell

Answer
The curve should be towards the barrel with it in place, no secret trick to putting it in, it's just a pain in the butt as it's a spring. Thanks and good luck!(Just attempt it for a few minutes at a time so you don't get frustrated and force anything!)
