Question
I recently acquired the above gun. 50 odd years ago a friend of mine had one of
these that was fairly new. On his, the under lever was strap like and followed the
pistol grip down and terminated in a small knob just below the grip.
The gun I have appears identical except the lever is a curved loop much like a
Winchester lever gun. SN is 29xx. What do I have? Thanks, Frank
Answer
There were 4 Walnut Hill model rifles.
Model numbers are;
No. 417
No. 417 1/2
No. 418
No. 418 1/2.
Can you supply all the makings on the rifle?
They are Single shot lever action.
Offered in .22 LR, .22 Hornet and .22 WRF.
It if is the target model it should weigh close to 10.5 pounds. It should say No. 417 somewhere on it.
It should Lyman sights.
These were made from 1932 to 1940.
They are Collectable
