Savage Rifles

Question
I am just an average hunter. I currently shoot a 257 Roberts with a 50 mm Tasco scope. I do handload my own shells. I need to purchase an additional hunting rifle for Texas Whitetails. For medical financial reasons, I am limited as to what I have available to spend. i am looking at the Savage 111 in 25-06. I am getting scared off because the gun that I am looking at does not have the accure trigger. Is this feature necessary for the average hunter?

Answer
No, the accu trigger is not necessary for hunting.  People have gotten along without it for a hundred years.  Savage models without accu trigger have the same characteristics as hunting rifles from other manufacturers (like Remington, Winchester, etc.).  With practice, you can shoot accurately with the longer trigger travel and variation in force that comes with a standard trigger.

But, the accu trigger is very nice.  It makes it slightly easier to shoot well.

Hope this helps!

Dave
