Question
Hi Bob.  Could tell something about the Golden State Arms Corp, Pasedena Calif, Sante Fe Model 1949. We are very interested in what ammo is used for this rifle.  Thank you for your efforts.  Ed

Answer
Hi Ed.

I am not familiar with this rifle personally but I found some info on the web which might help you:

General info about the company and current value:
https://store.bluebookinc.com/Downloads/Category.aspx?product=8&id=411

Report of the rifle being a 303 British caliber:
http://kalashnikov.guns.ru/wwwboard/messages/11827.html

Apparently if you look on the left side of the barrel just forward of the action you will find that there is a stamp of 303 BR on it.  To be sure of the identity and caliber, and to make sure that it is safe to use, I highly recommend that you take it to a gunsmith to have it inspected before loading or firing.  They can probably help you find parts or ammo for it too if needed.

Good luck!

Bob
