replacement stocks for 12 ga.

Question
I recently purchase an older Browning 12 ga. Belgium made. I now realize that the stock is cracked from the butt of the gun barrel to the end of the gun (the entire stock) where can I purchase a used or new one before X-mas? All this gun "stuff" is so foreign to me. Thanks, Michelle Also..I read about some earlier guns being warrantied by Browning because of the stocks not being cured well and were cracking....due to "salt"?? do you know anything about it?
Answer
Michelle,
Sounds like someone is getting a very nice Christmas gift. The Browning Automatic 5 is what you probably have. They had a problem with guns manufactured between 1966 and 1974 according to one of my fellow experts on this site, Jim Reeves. This resulting in problems with the stock cracking.
You can get a replacement at Midwest Gun Works. I have provided a link to the page below. I'd give them a call. According to what I have heard, they will do their best to match the coloration to the "for-end" which is what the wood piece underneath the barrel is called.
Give them a call at 636-475-7300
The link to the page on their website is here:

Good luck and Merry Christmas,
