Question
i have a single shot 20 gauge, full choke... so i cant fire a "slug" round. lets just say for instance, that the last... say... 5 inches of the barrel were to... disappear... hypothetically. now the choke part is gone right? so can a slug round now be fired? sympathetically of course.
Answer
det. roberts,
As you probably know, you first need to be concerned with not having too many inches of barrel "disappear". You don't want to accidently be in possession of an illegal weapon.
That said, yes........ the choke is in the area of the muzzle and if/when any barrel length is "lost", generally the choke will go with it. Since slugs perform best from the more open chokes (IE. cyl. skeet, imp.cyl. etc.) you in essence are opening the "choke" about as wide as it can be.
I would not expect great accuracy out this gun after your project is completed. That of course is another whole topic that we could spend a lot of time on.
Good luck and thanks for the question.
