W R A 9MM AMMO

Question
WHEN I PURCHASED MY 9MM BROWNING (1969) I WAS GIVEN SOME AMMO. I BOUGHT A NEW BOX AND HAVE NOT PAID ANY ATTENTION TO THE OTHER. IT IS MARKED W R A 9MM LUGER.
MY QUESTION IS SOME OF THE PRIMERS HAVE RED AROUND THEM AND SOME DO NOT. ANY REASON I SHOULD KNOW ABOUT?

With the old ammo, you may not want to use it since some old ammo has corrosive primers, and causes more corrosion to the gun after firing if not cleaned well.

For the new ammo: I don't know why there would be differences among the cartridges in the same box if it is new.  The cartridges in a new box of ammo from a commercial manufacturer should all be the same in appearance.

The red around the primer is common to some manufacturers as a sealant.  When I buy unloaded cases for reloading at home, they often have the red ring.  I've found that primed cases from Federal have the red ring.  For performance of the cartridge, it does not matter whether or not it has the red around the primer.
