2016/7/22 9:17:46

Question
Ok, well i have had this gun in my house for about when the house was build in like early 1900 when the coal rush in PA. All i have on the gun is that it is a military weapon, its calaber is a little bit bigger than a .380, and i have the serial number is: AL 8099  (end)

and where the barrel and the bolt meet it has on the tpo , a crown then below the crown it has "FAT", then below fat it has 42

can ya tell me what this is ?

Answer
Sorry...there is just not enough information here to even begin a search.  I would need to know the Manufacturer.  The crown with the FAT and 42 beneath it could be a proof mark when the rifle was tested for acceptance by the military.  Usually there are engravings with the manufacturer's name, place of manufacture, model and caliber.  7.65mm was a popular military caliber is about the same physical size as a .380

Not much else I can tell you...sorry.

Regards,

Doug
