Walther PPK value

QUESTION: I have inherited a very nice Walther PPK  #316656 K  With 2 clips (one extended)-nice brown D.R.G.M. holster.  Pistol has Eagle marks on barrel and frame. 7,65 mm.  Perfect bore-highly polished. no nicks/scratches.  Any idea of value?

I need some additional information to come up with something reasonable in response to your request.

Could you please tell me what the markings on the barrel are?  Does it say Zella-Mehalis or Ulm.  Also if there are any other letters or markings of any type below or around the eagle marks, that would be helpful.

Is the magazine release button on the left side of the grip or is there a lever on the bottom of the magazine.  Is the gun in a blued finish or is it polished nickel?

If you can send me this info, that would make any estimates a lot more accurate.

QUESTION: An N under the eagle.  Zella-Mehalis on left side.  Mag release on left side.  Bottom of one mag has what looks like a brown plastic extension.   Blued finish.

Hi Ted,

Sorry it took me a day to get back to you.  I am on business travel today and did not have good email access.

Here's the scoop.  Your gun appears to have been manufactured between 1940 and 1945.  The 'eagle over N' is the standard Nazi commercial acceptance proof mark.  The "K" below the serial number actually increases the value slightly.  The values for the .32 ACP which is what you have are as follows:

100% (brand new in box) $850
98% - $650
95% - $475
90% - $375
80% - $300

My guess, based on your description, is that you have something in the 90%-95% range.  I'd have to actually see it to be precise in the grading.  Very few old guns are considered 98% or higher.  The fact that you have the additional magazines and holster would probably make it a little more valuable to a collector depending on their particular interests.  Depending on the holster condition, you might be able to add as much as $200 to the value of the package.

I recently found a specimen advertised for sale like yours listed in 85% condition with a high quality bore, two magazines and a holster (DGRM) for $995.  It really just depends on what the collector is willing to pay.
