Question
I have a 12GA double barrel sterlingworth shotgun with 28" barrel serial #110726. Can you tell me year of make, value, or any other important information regarding this gun? Thank you!
Answer
Bob,
The Sterlingworth was produced in 12, 16, or 20ga. in a boxlock double barrel action. They were available with 26" 28" or 30" barrels. They had double triggers/extractors with auto ejection. They were blue steel with case hardened color on a walnut stock.
Although I do not have a serial number/year cross reference, I can tell you that these guns were manufactured from 1911 to 1946. As for value of the gun..... there are about 15 different models/versions of said shotgun.
If in a standard version and in "good" condition, it would have an approximate retail value of $800. If you need an exact value for resale or insurance purposes, I'd suggest that you deliver the gun to a qualified person who can personally inspect the gun for you.
Thanks for the question Bob.
