Question
I own a Russian SKS. I want to put a red dot/or cross hair scope on it but still want to be able to use stripper clips. What would be the better optic and mount(s) to achieve such ?
Answer
Eric,
After market accessories for Russian military rifles are out of my experience, but I've contacted a colleague, Paul Goze, who is an avid collector and shooter of such rifles.
You would need to mount your glass forward of the action, which will be no problem for a dot, and will work if you use a Scout scope for magnification.
His response below:
ok, here it is

I don't know of any other option for what he wants (well, there is another option - a handguard/gas tube with built in rail, but that is too far from the eye and the gas tubes will frequently have a little play in them).
